SITTING SCHEDULE
Thursday Evenings – 7:00-8:30pm
Trinity United Methodist Church Interdenominational Chapel 4001 Speedway, Austin, TX 78751 (Park in lot across Speedway from the Church.) Click for Directions.We begin with 30 minutes of sitting meditation, followed by 15 minutes of walking meditation and then another 15 minutes of sitting. We end the evening with a discussion based on a weekly reading. It is not necessary to have done the reading to attend. Beginners are always welcome.
There will be a Dharma talk with Q&A after meditation on the first Thursday of each month. The topic of the talk will vary.
Book for Thursday Discussion - “It’s Easier Than You Think: The Buddhist Way to Happiness” by Sylvia Boorstein. It is available from Amazon.
We will soon begin discussion of “The Experience of Insight” by Joseph Goldstein. It is also available at Amazon. It is not a new release; it may also be available used.
Instruction for Beginners - First Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. Bring a cushion if you have one; a few cushions and chairs are available. You are welcome to sit in a chair if you prefer. Wear comfortable clothing.

First Sunday – 9:00am-12:30pm
Please note: We have found a new place to meet for First Sunday. Due to the Shaila Catherine retreat, there will be no First Sunday in January; we expect to resume in February. Please check this page for developments.On the First Sunday of each month, we alternate sitting and walking meditation from 9-11am, and then hear and discuss a recorded dharma talk. You may arrive at either 9 or 10am and leave as you wish If you have not attended First Sunday before, please call Kathey (512.565.3774) or Rick (512.663.7835) for a brief orientation.
