Please read this important message if you might be late to Thursday evening! If you arrive before 7pm, you may enter the door on 40th St.. If you arrive after 7, the door on 40th St. will be locked. You must use the Speedway entrance. If you are late, text (512) 903-8190 when you arrive. We will get the message and someone will open the door on Speedway.
We begin with 30 minutes of sitting meditation, followed by 15 minutes of walking meditation and then another 15 minutes of sitting. We end the evening with a discussion based on a Dharma Talk or a brief reading. The Dharma talk with Q&A occurs on the first Thursday of each month (with few exceptions.) Beginners are always welcome.
Each month we will cover topics from teachings of the Buddha. The topics for upcoming months are the Four Foundations of Mindfulness:March – Mindfulness of Body April – Mindfulness of Feeling Tone (Vedana) May – Mindfulness of Mental Formations June – Mindfulness of Dharmas
Instruction for Beginners – First Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. Bring a cushion if you have one; a few cushions and chairs are available. You are welcome to sit in a chair if you prefer. Wear comfortable clothing. Other times for instruction may be arranged. Contact Rick or Kathey if you would like to organize a different time.
First Sunday – 9:00am – 12:30 p.m.
On the First Sunday of each month, we alternate sitting and walking meditation from 9-11am, and then hear and discuss a dharma talk about the topic of the month. You may arrive at either 9 or 10am and leave as you wish. If you have not attended First Sunday before, please call Kathey (512.565.3774) or Rick(512.663.7835) for a brief orientation and directions to our meeting place. On First Sunday, we sit at a location near Zilker Park in South Austin.

Our activities are offered freely. Our expenses and retreat scholarships are provided by voluntary donations. You may donate in person at any sit or use PayPal. To make a one time donation, use the “Donate” button:
